PROGENY - PEPNICK CITABRIA (YAZZ)

Pepnick Citabria (Dux vom Burg Esch x Pepnick Abuzz) 17.04.92 – 12.01.03
Yazz (Pepnick Catabria)

Yazz qualified BH, SchH.I, SchH.II and SchH.III. She passed her amazing abilities on to her progeny and, of her 3 lovely litters, many of her pups gained SchH III. Undoubtedly, she was an extraordinary bitch and I am so grateful that she was at my side during a very sad period of my life.

Pictured below (r.h. side of podium) is Yazz gaining her SchH.I - she also gained Best Obedience and Best Protection Work. At the forefront is her sire, the all black Dux von Burg Esch, to the left of the podium is her litter brother Marco, who gained his SchH.II and centre podium is her half-brother who gained his SchH.III. Yazz went on to qualify SchH.I twice, SchH.II twice and SchH.III 5 times.

Pepnick D.D. No folks, this is not Pepnick Double Diamond, (although a Diamond she most certainly was). Pictured below is Pepnick Devil’s Daughter (a serious misnomer if you ask me!) with her owner Lisa.

""

D.D., born 13.02.95, was one of 8 pups in Yazz’s first litter (the ‘D’ litter). Her sire was Rothick Rival SchH III. Of this litter 1 became a companion, 2 went into obedience homes and worked ‘A’ and ‘B’, 1 became a registered PAT Dog, 4 went into Schutzhund (3 of these gained SchH.III many times).

D.D. (living up to her initials) was full of ‘Daring Do’. In addition to her B.H. and SchH.I, she trained in Clubs in the South-East Kent region, competing in Agility, Fly Ball displays and Obedience (knocking spots off the Collies) and was referred to by many as 'A Collie in Drag'.

""

D.D. was a much-loved pet of the family. She died in December, 2005 having left more than a lasting impression. Once met never forgotten! People from the Fly Ball and Agility circuit who knew her often refer to her antics in the ring even today, as she never ceased to put a smile on spectators’ faces with her capers.

Pepnick Drakar (Rothick Rival x Pepnick Citabria)

Bodie, owned by Gavin Smith, was a glamorous, shapely dog. Not just a “pretty face” he gained SchH III many times over

They came, they saw and they fell in love. Under “false pretences” his prospective Mum was able to practice her feminine wiles on her unsuspecting husband and Zack (Pepnick Elliot) became the latest addition to their doggy household.

Zack was born 23.06.97. He was an eye-catching pup and it was no surprise that he made such an impact on his new Mum. He was an extremely intelligent dog and was Obedience and Agility trained. However, being ‘able to do’ didn’t necessarily equate to ‘wanting to do’ in his book. It wasn’t long before the family realised that Zack preferred to be a spectator. He took great delight in devising evasive ploys to outwit Emma, his young handler. In fact, it became an art form at which he also excelled and he spent many happy times on the sidelines, watching her complete the courses without him!

All credit to Emma (then aged 14), who handled him when he gained his B.H. It must have been a very proud and exhilarating moment for her and the family.

Pictured below are the “Four Musketeers”. From left to right are; his ½ sister D.D., ½ brother Dex, Zack himself and Storm.

Zack was indeed a real character, a much-loved member of the family and their constant companion throughout his life.

Eric (Hip Score 4:8) is with Prison Services.

Rosie is shown here with her owner, Penelope Bellis (Penny to her friends). Yet another shapely, glamorous bitch that excelled at competition. Rosie has CDEx, UDEx, WDEx, TDEx and PDEx. Rosie was Penny’s companion and much-loved friend. She occupied a special position in Penny’s life and an even bigger place in Penny’s heart.

Pepnick Forrest Gump(Dex) born 23.07.98. Out of Yazz’s third litter (the ‘F’ litter). Dex went on to become a prolific competition winner. After another successful Schutzhund win, Dex is ensuring that his owner, Dave, stays to guard his bounty!

Dex successfully competed abroad and is pictured below left with Dave and helper, Patrick Noel, at the Belgian Trials where he gained his IPO1 under Judge Michell Haevart. Below right is Dex and Dave at the Nationals, Bognor Regis, in 2003.

Like all Lisa and Dave’s dogs, Dex is also a much-loved part of the family and is featured above with his four-legged clan.

TRIBUTE

I have only mentioned a small proportion of Yazz’s progeny; to name them all and their achievements would take too long. Suffice to say that during their time her progeny dominated the scene across all working disciplines. At any given competition it would be no surprise to see her progeny occupying 1st and 2nd places on the podium.

This success didn’t just “happen by accident”. Yazz’s outstanding litters were a culmination of a breeding programme that ensured I only bred from my best bitches. Selecting the stud dogs carrying the right bloodlines to combine with mine was always a painstaking task. My objectives have always been to produce Shepherds that truly are sound both physically and mentally, with the capability of carrying out whatever demands are made of them just as easily as fitting into a family scene.

I would add that irrespective of how good any breeder is, without the right people to add those other all important “ingredients” into the “mix” there would be no successes. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to say a big “Thank You” to all the owners of Yazz’s sons and daughters for their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm.

Yazz was an outstanding bitch in her own right. She never faltered and never wavered from my side. This is in loving memory of a truly wonderful and irreplaceable girl, Yazz xxxxx.
