PROGENY – PEPNICK HOLY GHOST (SPICE)
Spice, also featured in the “H” Litter, survived a dreadful accident which left her blind in one eye. She was only 6 months old at the time yet, despite this traumatic experience, her character remained unchanged. She truly is a wonderful bitch and my constant companion.
Spice (Zidane vom Haus Sevens x Jensil Inddy at Pepnick), Hip Score 5:5 Elbows 0:0

Zidane vom Haus Sevens (Magbert vom Blitzen Stein x Randa vom Haus Sevens)

Zidane was born 23.11.2000. He was owned, trained and handled by Johny Degens. Zidane is now living in the U.S.A.
THE ‘J’ BABIESFor the ‘J’ litter (born 26.03.06 - Zidane van’t Leefdaalhof x Pepnick Holy Ghost), Spice got the mix just right producing 4 super dogs and 5 lovely bitches.
Pictured below with his handler, PC Skinner, is Pepnick Jed (Lennon). Lennon is already proving his potential. He completed his initial course in December, 2007 and then returned for his re-licensing in March, 2008, where he achieved “Advanced” grade. This was, indeed, a very good standard for such a young dog.

Pepnick Jaguar (Sam) (26.03.06 – 03.06.11)
Pictured below is Pepnick Jaguar (Sam), owned by Len and Patsy Wallwork. Sadly Sam was diagnosed with Cancer and given sleep to save further suffering. That this indiscriminating disease could advance so quickly, in a dog so young and vibrantly healthy, must have been a terrible shock to his family.
Sam’s section remains here, virtually unchanged, as a testament to their achievements together, a tribute to this big-hearted dog and out of respect for the Wallwork family who loved him so dearly.
Here you see him being put through his paces; he really was a powerful, striking dog. He achieved his BH FPr.1 A.D. (12 mile Endurance Test for those not aware of this qualification). Hip Score of 7:4.

Sam achieved his IP01 at Bolton Schutzhund Club on the 11.04.09, under Judge Prof. Dr. Peter Friedrich (ADRK). His scores were; Tracking 88, Obedience 87, Protection 92, giving him an overall total of 267
It was obvious that Len had put a considerable amount of hard work into training Sam, even more obvious was the fact that they both so thoroughly enjoyed it.
The duo were back in the news before the ink had dried on their earlier write-up when they achieved Schutzhund II (IPO2) on 05.07.09, under Judge Heiner Wompner (ADRK), gaining top marks with a total score of 274 (85/94/95).
This was followed by their “hat trick” when they achieved Schutzhund III, placed second with a total score of 269 (83/90/96).
I wrote at the time “It is news such as this that makes me feel justified for following my breeding programme but, as I have said before, it doesn’t matter how good my bloodlines are; without owners like Len all the nail-biting decisions, effort and hard work would be wasted!”
When he wasn’t working Sam liked to take time out relaxing on the sofa

Sam was a great ambassador - not just for my kennels but for the breed as a whole. He epitomised my breeding; a perfectly well-balanced family pet who had all the attributes and soundness of mind and body required to become a successful working dog. He was living proof indeed that you can Schutzhund train a dog without compromising their role as a valuable and integral family companion (proving many a pundit wrong in the process!).
Sam’s family are very proud of his achievements and Len and Patsy should be very proud of their achievements, as these successes reflected the amount of effort they put into training.
Sam is pictured below with his family.

Being put through her paces below is Pepnick Jasmine (Britta), making the long jump look effortless.
Britta was sold as a pup to Whitewall kennels, where she was partially trained by Emma and Wesley Roche, before being bought by Surrey Police Force.
Here she is again with (I believe) her handler. Don’t they make a handsome pair and doesn’t she look as if she has been having fun? Britta successfully completed her course and passed out as a General Purpose Police Dog.
Pictured below is Pepnick Jewell (Zeta). Zeta has a Hip Score of 4:6. She is so like her mother, Spice. Nice to see she keeps her ears clean! Zeta has joined the Whitewall kennels as a brood bitch where she has proven her ability to produce good working progeny.
Meanwhile, Pepnick Julius, Jude, Janka (Hip Score 4:5) J-lo and Justine all went as companion dogs into pet homes.
Pictured below is Pepnick J-lo at 15 weeks. Isn’t she lovely?

Unfortunately, I don’t have any photographs of the others to show you.
THE ‘L’ LOT
The ‘L’ litter was born 06.05.08 (Daio van de Hogemeentocht x Pepnick Holy Ghost). There was more than a hint of Spice in this litter when she decided that females were the flavour of that season – she produced 8 bitches and only 3 dogs and what a lively lot they turned out to be too.
Pictured below are some of my “Little L’ers” at play in the garden.

Here they are again doing a 10 minute sit stay (as if!!!!).
The “boys” (Pepnick Lock ‘n’ Load, Lord of the Rings and Legend in the Making) all went off to Thames Valley police. Whilst it is too soon to report on all their progresses, latest news is that one of the trio, Otto (pictured below), passed out as a police dog early December 2008. Hopefully I will have more news as their training progresses.
A young Otto

Otto, pictured below with his handler, Andy Kemp.

Congratulations to Andy Kemp and Otto, who passed out as a General Purpose Police Dog in December, 2008. Well done both of you. What a lovely, early Xmas present that must have been.

Pictured below is his brother, Orry, at a few weeks old. Orry is a companion dog.

Meanwhile, here come the “girls”…………………..
Pictured below is Lucy (Pepnick Lively Lucy). Mmmm, push the button, don’t push the button, push the button………………….

In between driving lessons Lucy is perfecting the art of being a couch potato!

Pepnick Lady in Grey (Hera) Hip Score 5:6. Isn’t she lovely?
Pepnick Let It Be Me (Scruff) Hip Score 3:4, Elbows 0:0, looking very bright-eyed as she ponders on what other mischief she can get up to!!

They may look the picture of innocence but I know they’re plotting something!

I wasn’t wrong, the “Great Escape”! Scruff and “Mr. Ed” decide to make a break for it. How they intend to negotiate the gate remains to be seen!

Scruff has developed into a lovely, sweet-natured girl with a zest for life that is second to none. I feel sure that when the time comes, she will prove as valuable an influence on my bloodlines as her mum.
Pictured below is Pepnick Livewire (Indie) CDex UDex WDex TDopen. Indie is thoroughly enjoying her training – she is definitely one to look out for.

My foregoing comment proved right. Congratulations to Barbara, Joe and Indie (also pictured below), who qualified UD Open at Lincoln recently, with marks of 109.5 out of 110. What an excellent result!

Go Team Craft!
Pictured below is Pepnick Lulu (Lulu) after a game of football with Lewis. Lulu still hasn’t quite got the hang of the “offside rule”.

Pepnick Lily The Pink (Lillie) blending in nicely with the hay bales in the vain hope that if she can camouflage herself enough her mum might not find her, thereby giving her free run of the barns. Fat chance!!!

THE ‘M’ MOB
Pictured below is Emigranten’s Alfred, out of the twice World Ch. Eros von der Möhnwiese, blending very nicely with my own bloodlines. Emigranten’s Alfred aka "Felix" now works as a Police Dog in Miami.

Of course, after Spice presented me with a football team for her last litter, I made sure I was prepared for any eventuality this time and it was all hands to the deck. Puppy No. 1 duly presented itself and, after a respectable time, Puppy No. 2 appeared. Puppy No. 3 made his appearance and we waited for No. 4. All was well; Spice was taking a breather and napping whilst we waited….. and we waited ….. and we waited (nail-biting time) we waited a little longer (the National Guard asked if they could stand down!!). Meanwhile, Spice calmly watched on as we bit our nails to the quick, until finally ….. the penny dropped ….. this was it, Mother Nature (confirmed by our endlessly patient Vet.) had decreed that it was to be a trio and what a trio they turned out to be!
This photograph was taken when they were at the tender age of 5 weeks and a day.

Always up to no good they were into everything!!
What this litter lacked in numbers they certainly made up in quality and character. One pup, Saxon, joined the Police Force where, within minutes of his arrival, he made his presence known! That’s my boy!!
Pepnick Mohican Chief

If you look at my Photo Gallery you will see the trio “Flower Pot Men”. Pictured below is Saxon, searching for “Weed”! Already ahead of the game!!!
Saxon will be passing out with Essex police very shortly.

The other dog pup, D-Fer, is Clare’s constant companion. He is having great fun running through the tunnel. It’s Clare’s turn next!
Pepnick Major Impact (D-Fer)

Last, but by no means least, is the beautiful Koda, who has joined the Fermor Family and is trained by Dave at White Cliffs Sports Dog Club, Dover. http://www.twcsportsdog.co.uk/index.html She has shown great potential from the word “go” and I am certain we will be hearing a lot more about this lovely young girl.
Pepnick Mayhem (Koda)

Here she is again; if she gets her nose in any deeper she will be ploughing a furrow!

KODA (PEPNICK MAYHEM)

Pictured above are Dave and Koda (Pepnick Mayhem), competing on 13th August at South Valley Schutzhund Club where they passed their BH. Well done to both of you.
THE ‘O’ LITTER
We are thrilled to say that Spice presented us with a super litter of 4 bitches and 3 dogs on 20.12.10. Their sire, Ipo van de Biezenhoeve is pictured below.
Ipo’s dam, the lovely Nena, is an impressive female. Her results are as follows; SchH I scoring 100 94 80, SchH II scoring 98 90 98, SchH III scoring 92 94 96. She achieved a very respectable 3rd place at the Belgium Masters scoring 94 93 97 and was placed 1st at the trials for the WUSV with impressive scores of 100 96 98.
This striking youngster looks set to become yet another “one to watch” as he fulfils all that can be expected of his breeding and expert training. Additionally, If you click on the link for Avon Dog Sports Club you will see some really good footage of Ipo. http://www.schutzhund.plus.com
My thanks to Johny Degens, for allowing me to use this super dog.

(Camaro av Oddvarg x Nena vom Prälatenwald)
These puppies have already generated a great deal of interest, especially as they are a final opportunity to acquire a Spice pup (she will now be retired from my breeding programme).
Here they are at two weeks.

Just a week later, looking the picture of innocence and an armful!

The house seems much quieter now they have gone to their new homes. Two pups have joined the Devon and Cornwall Police Force (hopefully we will have news of their progress later), two are in working homes, three are companions.
Pictured below is Pepnick Outlaw (Bronx) acquiring his sea legs.

Here he is again on terra firma

Pictured below is Pepnick Onyx (Cash)

This is why you should always take Cash when going on hols..... you get to bring home a free souvenir!

Pictured below are Pepnick Once In A Liftetime (Orka), Pepnick Once Again (Bonnie) and Pepnick Optical Illusion (Freya), looking as if they could use a “Get Out of Jail Free” card had someone not already chewed it!

Pepnick Once In A Lifetime (Orka)

Pepnick Optical Illusion (Freya)

Pepnick Once Again (Bonnie)

I would like to wish you all well in your new lives together.
Spice has been a superb brood bitch. Though she is now retired from my breeding programme (the ‘O’ litter being her last) her influence will continue through her sons and daughters.
Spice has sons standing at stud both inside and outside the Police Forces. Some daughters have become foundation bitches for other UK kennels, whilst others have become valuable influences within the police breeding programmes. Both sons and daughters are producing progeny that are achieving outstanding results in all aspects of work and disciplines.
Like her dam before her, Spice will influence bloodlines long after her retirement.
Keep watching this space!
